Teacher Carla Steele of Peterson Elementary recently requested 300 poppies for her 4th – 6th grade students after reading “The Poppy Lady” in the school library. She remembered receiving a poppy as a child and wanted to share that tradition with her students.

VFW Auxiliary Post 1760 was proud to make it happen, with special thanks to Mary from Post 35 for helping us secure all the poppies so quickly.

Again, thank you to Teacher Carla Steele for helping spread awareness and for the wonderful pictures.

The Poppy Lady is available on Amazon if you would like to check it out yourself.
